Death and DeFi: Infineo is Reimagining Life Insurance On-chain
Today on stream we had on Bob and Cole from Infineo, a new RWA platform that’s creating a REIT style token for whole life insurance. There’s a lot more to the project, they will be digitizing whole life insurance policies and setting up secondary markets… but what’s interesting about their product is that it’s truly up-only. The asset collects cash monthly and cannot fall in value. This would make it a prime target for DeFi lending, which Cole told me you could offer over 100% LTV for. The only downside is that it’s a security, it has to be traded on Provenance and there’s a 1 year lock up from when you buy it. The DeFi applications are expansive though. Even though the collateral can’t be sold… you can borrow against the asset in the first year. So maybe there is some incredible looping that can take place.
Going Viral Onchain
This episode welcomes Cooper Turley, Founder of Coop Records. Cooper is a recurring guest on the pod, though this time, we focus all of our attention on how to go viral onchain. Consider this a round table discussion where him and I share our insights, lessons learned, and debate our perspectives on the current state of the onchain creator economy. I hope you enjoy our conversation.
