Why User-Owned AI Matters More Than Ever with Sreeram Kannan

Welcome back to another episode of EigenLayer Unlocked. Today, we are exploring a side of AI x crypto that often goes under the radar: its potential to be a foundational layer for AI coordination and collaboration. This podcast live from Singapore takes us through the building blocks of how crypto rails could unlock a more secure, collaborative, and efficient AI ecosystem, alongside EigenLayer founder Sreeram Kannan. The conversation starts with the basics: crypto's ability to act as a coordination layer. In essence, we’re talking about using blockchain to manage and structure the activities of autonomous agents in a way that’s both transparent and resilient. Sreeram built the entire vision of EigenLayer with the idea of self-enforcing commitments, which is very applicable to AI. Think of human DAOs making decisions about how AI models operate, providing oversight while keeping everything distributed and not controlled by top down tech companies or worse, governments. This isn’t just about avoiding traditional regulators; it’s about creating a system that’s tailored for the positive widespread usage of AI from the ground up. The big takeaway? There's a short window right now for the crypto community to act. We’re at a point where the intersection of crypto and AI could establish a secure, global infrastructure for tomorrow’s AI. If we capitalize on this “transitory period,” we can ensure that the best AI developments run on crypto rails—embedding ethics, loyalty, and security into models that are only set to get more complex as large AI companies become more and more powerful. Let’s dive into how crypto rails could build a foundation for AI that’s as resilient as it is forward-thinking. How Camp Is Bridging The Gap With Social Data

We're live again from the studio from Singapore for EigenLayer Unlocked, this time for episode 21 with Nirav Murthy about Camp Network. Today’s piece dives into a unique approach to building lasting connections in Web3, using pre-exisiting data from prominent social media platforms. With Camp, we’re looking at a shift from single-transaction incentives to real, ongoing rewards that invite users to share their data, all while staying flexible with user privacy. Camp takes a different path, aiming to let users own and even monetize their online identities by bridging Web2 data with Web3 experiences. For those who’ve seen Web3 apps struggle with retaining users, this could be the key to bringing in and keeping the next wave of on-chain activity. Through their collaboration with EigenDA, Camp's L2 will be highly perfomant and also will be joining the superchain. We touched deeper on personalized data feeds to retention-based models for building better onchain experiences. Camp’s vision is to add depth to onchain user flows – a layer many Web3 applications still lack due to restrictions of blockchains. Let’s get into the details and explore how Camp is paving the way for a more connected, data-rich crypto ecosystem. Enjoy. What Is The Next Phase of Onchain Crypto? With Predicate

Welcome to episode 20 of EigenLayer Unlocked. In today's video, we dive into the mechanics behind Predicate, led by Nikhil Raghuveera, and their goal to streamline transaction prerequisites across crypto. This idea of “transaction prerequisites” may sound a bit like a mouthful, but the way we are thinking about it is bringing the crypto onchain UX far closer to that of the internet. Predicate is on a mission to bring onchain transactions up to speed with global compliance and security needs. By focusing on transaction prerequisites— essential conditions that make or break the legitimacy of a transaction—they’re simplifying the way onchain apps can interact with users on the front facing level. So, why EigenLayer? Well, by using EigenLayer, Predicate taps into a decentralized operator network that checks, verifies, and issues signatures without the need for centralized infrastructure or a unique token. This network not only supports prerequisites like risk scoring and collateral validation but also provides the flexibility for applications to customize these checks based on their specific needs. Using cryptoeconomic security allows Predicate to expand the functionality of onchain UX and provide verifiable, unique transaction logic. With crypto’s growing reach into the global economy, Predicate’s work aims to ensure that crypto apps can operate with an easy UX while staying compliant in many cases. Let’s unpack how Predicate uses the power of onchain and offchain data to create a more robust onchain UX. Enjoy. Building Ethereum's Connectivity Hub with Polymer Labs

We're live again from the studio from Singapore for EigenLayer Unlocked, this time for episode 19 with Peter Kim. For this episode, we are tackling the fragmentation problem head on with the story of Polymer and their north star of building an onchain experience where different execution environments communicate securely, transparently, and in a way users don’t even need to think about. As you know, we've been pushing the concept of chain abstraction as a key pillar to move into the internet-like UX era of crypto. Polymer and Peter share this vision as their love for IBC is inspired by the neutrality and accessibility of TCP/IP. Peter explained how Polymer’s vision goes beyond the typical token bridges that we see today to creating a connectivity hub as an L2 using EigenDA. We’ll explore what makes Polymer’s approach different, from their core focus on interoperability standards to their integration with EigenDA for secure, cost-effective state proofing, why they see so many parallels to the internet era and how they’re applying those lessons to Web3 today. How Abstract Plans to Dominate Consumer Crypto

Welcome to back to the live studio podcasts from Singapore for EigenLayer Unlocked, this time for a conversation with Luca from Abstract with a focus on building the next era of consumer-friendly blockchain experiences. As you know, we have been quite bullish on chains which are usecase-specific with a target market and segment of focus. Abstract is designed to prioritize user experience, aiming to be the leading chain that truly puts consumer needs at the forefront. As early supporters of Pudgy Penguins and Luca, we don't think there's many better teams positioned to carve a blue ocean in this market. Luca's vision includes creating what he calls a “Crypto Disneyland” – a place where onchain experiences enable engaging, fun, and user-friendly applications for the everyday person. It’s a bold shift in approach, one that moves away from the typical DeFi-centric models. At the heart of Abstract’s strategy is a “consumer portal” that unifies applications, providing a seamless journey for users from discovery to interaction. This streamlined approach is all about removing the barriers that typically cause high user drop-off rates in crypto, making it easy for anyone to navigate from one application to another. We also discussed their collaboration with Eigenlayer, specifically for EigenDA. Luca mentioned he wants Abstract to focus on user-facing distribution while leaving the backend infrastructure needs to Eigenlayer’s infra stack. They will also utilize ZK Sync's elastic chain interoperability infra. As Abstract gears up for its mainnet launch, Luca envisions a crypto ecosystem focused on everyday people is the next logical step to bring meaningful, mainstream adoption to the space. Enjoy. What is The Interop Endgame? With Hyperlane

Welcome to episode 16 of EigenLayer Unlocked, for a further look into the interoperability endgame. In today's video, we are focused on the technical design of Hyperlane's open framework for interoperability. Joined by Jon Kol, we touched on why we believe that modular, horizontal scaling is key for the future of the crypto space and building towards that future is where Hyperlane is headed. Recently, Hyperlane announced 'Supelane' in collaboration with Velodrome that brings consistent security across Superchain L2s. Superlane aims to create unified experiences with customizable security that scales as each chain develops and grow over time. We also discussed Hyperlane’s ISMs, which allow developers to pick and choose their security parameters, from basic setups to more sophisticated ZK bridging. What was really particularly interesting was their idea of enabling insurance for bridging using EigenLayer. Hyperlane is working to enable restakers to restake cryptoassets as a form of insurance for bridging as well as a security marketplace that lets you easily tap into trusted operators. We first heard of this idea earlier in the presentation series from Othentic, and its great to see it being built out as 'restaked interop' in Hyperlane. As you know, the interoperability fight is raging on and we are all doing what we can to play a significant role in the future of a composable crypto ecosystem. We're fighting the good fight, alongside great teams like Hyperlane. Enjoy.
